My Next Project: Novella

Am I crazy? It’s possible. I am a serial researcher. There is something so fantastic about researching everything. It really calms my nerves.

My most recent research on growing a community has suggested writing a novella and giving it away for free to people that subscribe to your newsletter. Well, I have a very limited number of people subscribed to my newsletter. So far I might as well be writing ‘Hi Mom’ as my intro.

So, a Novella. Seems easy enough, it’s just a condensed novel. But the problem is I have never written a novella. YouTube is quite limited in its suggestions on how to write a novella. And my mind is whirling as the ideas of stories spin their webs.

Part of me that wants to start something completely new and dig into ideas that have been festering at the surface wanting to be told. Another part of me wants to take something I’ve already written and finish it off into novella. The smart part of me knows that I should take a character from my debut novel and show their side of it. I’m very excited to see which side of my psyche wins.
